ABOUT ME
My name is Gary Fildes and I'm an astronomer.

From a small child, I had a fascination with all things astronomy.
​
All I ever wanted to be was an astronomer but life being life I ended up as a brickie, I eventually decided it was time to change my life so I did and I reached for the stars.
Now 25 years later I work at the Grassholme Observatory. I have traveled the world, built 3 observatories as a Director and CEO, appeared on numerous TV programmes written a book, and starred in an award-winning documentary about dark skies.

My life is now dedicated to spreading my fascination with the Universe to all who want to listen.
